The summit consists of planning as well as hands-on hacking sessions for Thunderbird. Andreas develops the FireTag plugins for Firefox and Thunderbird in ForgetIT which allows to easily tag emails and webpages with PIMO concepts such as topics, persons, or tasks. He represented DFKI and our activities from the ForgetIT project.

(O45) February 2015: At the “LDB-dag”, Göran Lindqvist presented the ForgetIT project in general, and CMIS exchange and Context-aware Preservation Manager in particular, for the National Archives of Sweden, and the National Library of Sweden.

(O46) March 2015: ForgetIT is presented at the CeBIT 2015 – the world’s largest IT trade fair in Hannover, Germany from March 16th-20th. In the exhibition hall 9 for research & technology, the DFKI has a dedicated stand to show selected innovative projects to the public. On a dedicated booth, the ForgetIT project is represented and shows the project ideas along the example of the PIMO Diary from the Personal Preservation Pilot I.

(O48) April 2015: Based on results developed for the Semantic Desktop infrastructure, the DFKI got a funding for a research transfer project in the German “Federal Ministry for Education and Research” (BMBF) program “KMU innovativ” (SME innovative”) targeting SMEs. The project is supSpaces (short for “Support Spaces”; Grant No: 01IS15013B) and together with the SME Mansystems Deutschland as consortium lead. Here, several ForgetIT topics are addressed such as Personal Information Management for 3rd Level Support, contextualization, and reducing information overload by applying forgetting in information systems.
